Jakarta, 18 December 2023 – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf), Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno launched the publication of the Jurnal Kepariwisataan Indonesia (JKI) Vol. 17, 2nd edition 2023 (December 2023) on Monday, 18 December 2023 at the Ballroom of the Pesona Indonesia Film Building, Jakarta, while attending the "Pesta Rakyat Sambil Ngobrol Asik Bareng Menteri Urusan Parekraf" event, which was organised by the Deputy for Strategic Policy.
Minister Sandiaga in his statement issued on Monday (18/12/2023), expressed his commitment to support the Jurnal Kepariwisataan Indonesia (JKI) in its efforts to achieve indexed journal status with an international reputation, allowing it to be more widely recognised and utilised by stakeholders.
"JKI must be managed seriously and professionally so that it can penetrate international indexation, one of which is Scopus, and this is one form of contribution and contribution of Kemenparekraf / Baparekraf in the development of the tourism sector in Indonesia," Sandiaga said.
The publication of the Jurnal Kepariwisataan Indonesia (JKI) Vol. 17 2nd edition 2023 comprises of 11 manuscripts authored by academics, researchers, policy analysts, and practitioners affiliated with various institutions in 3 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, and Australia. The manuscripts explore a variety of innovative and contemporary issues/themes in tourism, including Balancing Tradition and Tourism; Dynamics of the Role of Balinese Women; Implications of the Role of Tourism Support Capacity in Sustainable Tourism Destination Development; The Effect of Foreign Tourist Arrivals on Regional Development in East Nusa Tenggara and several other issues/themes.
Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, conveyed his appreciation to the authors, editorial boards and reviewers for their valuable contribution to the publication of the Jurnal Kepariwisataan Indonesia. He hopes that this journal can be useful and become a new era idea and reference source for tourism stakeholders in Indonesia.
